Medical Engineering

Our activities in the field of medical engineering comprise the design of implants and prosthetics.  One aspect of the performed simulations is the prediction of the adaptation of bone to loading characteristics that are changed by the presence of an implant (bone-remodeling).

We are also active in research: The research project “Realistic Bone Modeling for Implant Design” was initiated by CAE Simulation & Solutions. The goal of this project, which was funded by the Austrian research promotion agency FFG during the timeframe of two years, was the development of methods for the quick and realistic analysis of implants and the surrounding bone tissue.
